Globugg Terms of Use
Your agreement is with: Bavity LLC ("Globugg," "Bavity," "we," "us")
Last revised: 22 October 2026 · Effective: 17 October 2026
Legal notices: [email protected] · 5301 Alpha Road, Suite 80-709, Dallas, TX 75240, United States · Privacy: [email protected]
1. Acceptance and related documents
By creating an account or using Globugg, you agree to these Terms and our Community Guidelines, which are part of them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data, and our Cookie Policy explains cookie choices; agreeing to these Terms isn't consent to optional data uses. If you don't accept these Terms, don't use Globugg. If the law where you live requires a parent's or guardian's permission, you may use Globugg only with it. We record which version of these Terms you accepted.
2. Eligibility: from 13 to watch, 18 to post
Globugg is for adults. You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use Globugg, with or without an account. We ask your age before you use Globugg (on iPhone this can be the age range your Apple account shares). We may ask for reasonable proof of age, limit features, remove content or close accounts if these rules aren't met, and we close accounts we learn belong to someone under 18. You confirm you can agree to these Terms, or have any permission the law requires.
3. Your account
Give accurate information, keep your sign-in methods secure, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised. Don't share or sell accounts, create accounts automatically, impersonate anyone, get around restrictions, or come back after a suspension. You're responsible for what happens on your account, except where the law says otherwise. Usernames are assigned to you, not owned; we may change or reclaim one for impersonation, trademark, safety or operational reasons after a fair review.
4. Buggs, past Buggs and location
A Bugg is a short video posted at a place and time. It leaves the map when it expires (at most 3 hours, longer if boosted or sponsored) and then stays on the creator's profile as a past Bugg for up to one year. Labels like live, nearby and here now describe features, not guarantees that content is true, current or filmed where it says. Don't claim footage is live, yours, or from a place when it isn't. Don't rely on Globugg for emergency alerts, navigation or emergency help; in an emergency, contact local emergency services.
5. Your content and the license you give us
You keep ownership of the content you create. You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to post it (including music, performances, the people in it and access to the place). You give Bavity LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process (for example, compress, create thumbnails, check for safety), display and distribute your content within Globugg and in previews when it's shared, according to who you've chosen can see it; we can let our service providers do this on our behalf, and the license moves with Globugg if the business is transferred. We won't use your content in advertising outside Globugg without asking you first. The license ends when you delete the content (or your account) and it has been removed from our systems, except copies we must keep by law or for an active dispute, and copies other people already shared. We don't become owner of anything you post.
Other users may view and interact with your content through Globugg's features, but not use it commercially outside them. Nothing here limits moral rights that can't be waived.
6. What's not allowed
Follow our Community Guidelines. Among other things, don't post illegal or infringing content, harass or discriminate, share someone's personal information, post sexual exploitation or intimate images without consent, deceive people, encourage dangerous acts, sell illegal goods, fake engagement, or misuse someone's likeness. Don't get around technical limits, scrape personal data, or interfere with the service. Respect private property, filming rules, safety cordons and the people in your videos; don't endanger anyone for views, stop traffic, trespass or get in the way of emergency responders.
7. Moderation, reports and appeals
We review content with automated tools and people. We may label, limit, or remove content, decline or stop boosts, warn, restrict, suspend or close accounts, and keep evidence where needed for safety, security or the law, including against repeat or coordinated abuse. Where the law requires and it's safe to do so, we'll tell you what we did and why, and how to appeal (this includes statements of reasons for eligible users in the EU). We can't promise to catch all harmful or illegal content. Report content with Report in the app; how reports and appeals work is in our Content and Safety Reporting Policy. Appeals: [email protected].
8. Copyright
Respect copyright in films, photos, music, broadcasts, artwork and brands. We run a notice-and-takedown and counter-notice process under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Our designated agent is Bavity LLC, 5301 Alpha Road, Suite 80-709, Dallas, TX 75240, [email protected]. Send complete notices to [email protected]. Knowingly false claims can create legal liability. We close the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate. Full details, including what a notice and counter-notice must contain, are in our Content and Safety Reporting Policy.
9. Boosts
A boost keeps one of your live Buggs on the map longer (+6 hours, +12 hours, +24 hours) or promotes a business Bugg for a week or a month, labelled Sponsored. Boosted Buggs get a gold pin and show first in Nearby. A boost doesn't guarantee views, engagement, sales or followers. Before you pay, you see the price, what you get and how long it lasts; boosts are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. We may decline or stop a boost if the content breaks these Terms, the law or our safety rules; refunds then follow Section 10.
Points. You earn points for taking part (for example posting, finishing trails, joining challenges and inviting friends who post) and can use them on +6, +12 and +24 hour boosts. Points have no cash value: they can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and you can't get them back as a refund. Points earned through content that breaks these Terms or is removed are taken back, and we may cancel points gained by abuse (such as fake accounts, self-referrals or automated activity). Points expire after 12 months without activity on your account and end when your account is closed. We may change how points are earned or what they're worth, with notice for changes that reduce a balance you already have.
10. Purchases and refunds
In the iOS app: Apple processes the payment, and refunds go through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) under Apple's policies. We can check that a boost was delivered, but we can't refund Apple purchases ourselves.
In the Android app: Google Play processes the payment under Google Play's refund policies. Contact us if a boost wasn't delivered.
On the website: Stripe processes the payment and Bavity LLC is the seller. Email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase for a refund of a boost that wasn't delivered, or of a duplicate or unauthorized charge. If a boost has started, we refund the undelivered part where the law requires it or where the problem was our fault. Refunds go back to the original payment method; timing depends on your bank.
Your statutory consumer rights (including any right to withdraw or cancel) always apply and override this section. We may suspend purchases for fraud or abuse after a reasonable review.
11. Sponsored content and businesses
Businesses can post Buggs like anyone. Paid promotion uses boosts and is labelled Sponsored; creators must also clearly disclose other paid relationships where the law requires. Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of their claims, having the rights they need, and following consumer protection and advertising laws; no deceptive, discriminatory or unlawful promotions. A boost isn't an endorsement or verification by Globugg. We may review, decline, pause or relabel sponsored content.
12. Other services and the app stores
Globugg uses other services, including Mapbox and OpenFreeMap for maps, Apple and Google for sign-in, Stripe for website payments, and the Apple App Store and Google Play for the apps and in-app purchases. Their own terms may apply to your use of them. Maps and place details may be inaccurate and aren't safety-critical directions. We aren't responsible for other companies' services beyond what the law requires.
Additional terms for Apple users
These Terms are between you and Bavity LLC, not Apple. Bavity, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content, maintenance and support, any warranties that apply by law, product claims and intellectual property claims. You get a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the iOS app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's Usage Rules (including Family Sharing where it applies). If the app fails to meet a warranty, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the app's purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation as far as the law allows. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for claims about the app (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer protection claims) or for investigating and defending intellectual property claims. You confirm you're not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must follow third-party terms (such as your wireless carrier's) when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it once you accept these Terms. Questions or complaints about the app: [email protected].
13. Community contributions (CC BY 4.0)
Some Globugg map layers, trails, challenges, map themes, video frames, stickers, sounds and chat suggestions come from our community through the Globugg Creators repository, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and credited to their creators. That license applies only to items marked as such, not to users' Buggs, the Globugg name and logo, the app's code or third-party media. Contributors confirm they have the right to license what they submit; privacy, publicity and trademark rights may still limit how it can be used.
14. Globugg's intellectual property
Bavity LLC and its licensors own the Globugg name and logo, the software, design and databases. You may use Globugg for lawful purposes under these Terms. Don't copy our code, reverse engineer the apps (except where the law allows), frame or scrape Globugg, get around access controls, run bots that degrade the service, or use our trademarks without permission.
15. Ending your account
You can stop using Globugg and delete your account any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account, or by emailing [email protected]. We may restrict, suspend or close an account for serious or repeated violations, fraud, safety risks, legal requirements, or if we stop offering Globugg, with notice and a way to appeal where the law requires. Closing an account doesn't erase purchase records, rights that already arose, or data we must keep by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits and disputes) survive where enforceable.
16. Availability and disclaimers
Globugg is provided "as available," subject to warranties and consumer rights that can't be excluded. We don't promise uninterrupted access, accurate user content, reliable live footage or exact locations, safe interactions with other people, or any result from a boost. Content comes from users and isn't emergency, medical, legal, traffic or security advice. We don't exclude liability that can't legally be excluded, such as for fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
17. Liability and indemnity
As far as the law allows, Bavity isn't liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of Globugg, and our total liability is limited to the greater of USD $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply where consumer law or other mandatory rules prohibit them, and don't reduce your statutory remedies. Where enforceable, and only to the extent caused by you, you agree to cover Bavity's reasonable costs and damages from third-party claims arising from content you weren't allowed to post, your infringement, unlawful activity or serious breach of these Terms (but not from Bavity's own misconduct). This may not apply to consumers in some places.
18. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory laws of the place you live apply. Disputes not covered by mandatory local procedures will be heard in the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas. These Terms contain no arbitration agreement or class-action waiver. If you live in the EEA, the UK or elsewhere with mandatory consumer rights, you keep your right to bring claims in your local courts and to use statutory dispute procedures. Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve things; this doesn't shorten any legal deadline.
19. Changes, the whole agreement and contact
We may change these Terms for the future with appropriate notice, and ask you to accept them again where the law requires. If a provision is invalid, it's limited or removed without affecting the rest or your mandatory rights. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. If these Terms are translated, the English version controls, unless local law says otherwise.
